Overview:

The Bumblebee Goby is a small, eye-catching fish known for its bold yellow and black striped pattern, resembling a bumblebee. Native to Southeast Asia, these fish are popular in nano and species-specific aquariums due to their unique appearance and interesting behaviour.

Despite their small size, Bumblebee Gobies can be territorial, especially with their own kind, so it’s best to keep them in small groups with plenty of hiding spaces such as caves, rocks, and plants. They are best suited to experienced aquarists due to their specific feeding and water requirements.

Care and Feeding:

Bumblebee Gobies prefer live or frozen foods such as bloodworms, brine shrimp, and daphnia. They may be reluctant to accept dry foods, so a varied diet is important for their health. Providing a tank with sand substrate and plenty of hiding spots will help them feel secure.

While they can survive in freshwater, they tend to thrive best in slightly brackish conditions. Stable water parameters and good filtration are essential for long-term success.

  • Small size, ideal for nano aquariums
  • Prefers live and frozen foods
